Today is the silver jubilee of my (parents) house. I suddenly feel nostalgic.. I am glad to be here today, spending the precious moments of this significant day within its warm and secure walls.. so many years I spent here.. so many changes it has silently seen and absorbed.. i am sure every little brick has lot more stories to tell than my memory can hold.. how patiently it has borne all my rages, taken all the abuse from me... all the numerous times I banged the door to convey my displeasure, all the stuff (including but not limited to phones, remote controllers, tumblers, books, pens...) I threw against its silent walls in protest, fury and sorrow.. all the times i spent dreaming, musing, smiling about silly things in the privacy of the four walls I called my abode.. a harborer of so many secrets that even i cant remember.. all the good times that we spent as a family, laughing, joking, being there for one another, in this safe haven.. and even in the rough times too, it stood by us unasked and unquestioned.. how I took its presence for granted.. even today whenever i feel homesick and blue just the very thought of its strong and sturdy image, eases me and brings back a fresh breeze of old memories.. even when I am thousands of miles away just the thought of coming home to 'home-sweet-home' fills my heart with an intense satisfaction and happiness.. even the thought of a 24 hour air journey, all cramped up in the coach seat becomes possible with the pleasant thoughts of home..

today is a tribute to you, my dear house!! May you live to be a hundred, may you live to be a hundred, may you live to be hundred and still a hundred more..
